The primary accountability of this role is to generate accurate quantity estimates, costing and pricing for takeoffs based on bid and negotiated flooring opportunities while supporting the development of the Access Floor market. The successful candidate must have a strong knowledge of flooring products and applications, as well as the best practices strategies for bidding and pricing.

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:
• Work with Project Managers on following through from budgeting, tendering and sales
• Prepares project to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents
• Reviews specification package and research material requirements to include trims, accessories and installation methods
• Performs take-offs and prepares related documents using estimating and bidding software (FloorRight)
• Reviews and analyzes cost estimate and material requirements with Project Managers to assist in finalizing quote
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications
• Coordinates with internal and external sources to ensure bid deadlines are met
• Evaluates success based on product knowledge and post-mortems from take-offs

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma. Post-Secondary Education an asset.
• Experience and/or certification in AutoCAD or similar required
• 5 years’ experience and a proficient understanding of construction specifications and drawings
• Positive, optimistic approach
• Self-Motivated, action oriented
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Indisputable attention to detail and focus on quality
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A proven ability to work collaboratively within a team while taking personal responsibility for delivering superior results
• Able to provide proof of full immunization against Covid-19 upon hire

Work Environment:
• Sedentary office work with majority of time spent at workstation and on the computer
• Must have reliable personal vehicle available for business use
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs of materials on occasion
• Some job site travel required (1-2 per week)
